The first chapter of this book includes a brief introduction to and a glossary of terms. The second chapter discusses the option pricing theory and the so-called “greeks” of option trading. Volatility and a description of how to interpret market movements in terms of the underlying volatility are discussed in the third chapter. Chapter four relates volatility to option price movements and develops the basic tools or building blocks for the different trading strategies. The following chapter introduces the concept of delta-neutral trading and explains how to set up the safest trades possible. Chapter six develops some simple strategies to illustrate the application of concepts and tools presented in previous chapters with examples taken from real life. Specific criteria for the success of these methods are listed in the last chapter, and the odds for success for each strategy have been derived by examining the historical evidence from different markets.
